Looking at all the different things popping up on my Facebook news feed, it makes me wonder how healthy our food is. The only way to eat healthy is to make our own food rather than buying pre-made meals. Over the last month, I've heard of several disturbing things about food and drinks that I give my own child. Here they are:
Think about it. Mold in Capri Sun? It's questionable but at the same time Capri Sun doesn't use preservatives.
Reading about aspartame in milk just disturbs me, especially when it might not be on the label. I already have to limit what my son can eat and drink because he is sensitive to the color dyes. Seeing this makes me want to find other alternatives of calcium because aspartame is dangerous.
Reading about beetle contamination in infant formula is the scariest of all. Babies are so young and helpless and must be taken care of carefully. Why were there beetles in the formula in the first place?
Working in retail has exposed me to the recalls, and knowing what the products are can be disturbing. Over the last few years, I've seen Tylenol, baby formula, children's toys, strollers, cribs, and more on the recall lists. So, living healthy and living safely is what we all strive to do but sometimes the unexpected occurs and the whole world must be on full alert.
